Position description

The ManufacturingIntern will have the opportunity to make an impact in operations at the center of a complex composites manufacturing site. This role will assist in machining, assembling and trimming a variety of parts, and will have exposure to the core manufacturing processes of the business, including how to operate manufacturing equipment,troubleshooting of equipment, part quality, and continuous improvement activities. The role will also include exposure to specialty manufacturing processes including injection and compression molding, as well as complex turning, milling, and grinding operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be currently enrolled in college/university courses, Engineering or Technical courses are a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in above ambient temperatures
  • Ability to work 10+ hours per week
  • Ability to read, write and understand to the English language
  • Ability to adhere to safety standards and protocols
  • This position is subject to export controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified applicants for the position must meet the ITAR definition of "U.S. Person" at 22 C.F.R. 120.15 as a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual (including for example refugees and asylees).

  • Vision - Ability to view/see parts for visual inspection and measuring
  • Reading and Writing- Expressing or receiving detailed information by nonverbal means
  • Bend/Stoop/Kneel/Crouch -Requires use of the lower extremities and back muscles
  • Standing/Walking - Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Finger/Grasp/Handle/Feel - Working primarily with fingers
  • Talk/Hear - Expressing or receiving detailed information by means of spoken word
  • Repetitive Motions - Substantial movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Working in above ambient temperatures
