Your Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Welding Inspector to join our Quality Control team at John Zink in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our welds and other facets of our products. Your expertise in various welding processes, codes, standards, visual and dimensional inspection, and nondestructive testing will be invaluable in maintaining the highest level of quality assurance.

What You Will Do

  • Hold a current American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Utilize your experience and knowledge of American Welding Society (AWS) codes, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) codes , American Petroleum Institute (API) standards, and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) , to conduct welding and material inspections.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Conduct coating inspections in accordance with SSPC, NACE, and ISO specifications.
  • Witness required factory acceptance testing.
  • Compile and maintain project Quality documentation.
  • Assist with customer inspections.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Possess a current American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience working with AWS codes, ASME codes, API codes and other relevant standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with coating systems (Ability to obtain AMPP Certification)
  • Working knowledge and experience in dimensional inspection techniques


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience or training as an ASNT Level II in Magnetic Particle Testing/Yoke method, Dye Penetrant Testing, Radiographic film interpretation, Ultrasonic Testing, PMI Testing
  • Current AMPP (NACE) CIP level 1 or higher certification
  • Current API 936 or API 982 Refractory certification
